Sanden Mexicana Acquisition
Sanden Corporation, a leading designer and manufacturer of compressors and other AC components, and Sanden International USA Inc (SIA) acquired 100% ownership of Sanden Mexicana (SMX) located in Saltillo, Mexico.
SMX began operations in 1984 as a joint venture between Jorge Rosenfeld, SIA and Sanden Corporation. Today, SMX employs more than 200 associates and produces automotive components for Magna International, Formex, Hilite International, Intier and SIA.
This acquisition will support Sanden's expansion and growth strategy in the Americas Region (North, Central and South America) as automotive sales outside the United States continue to increase. SMX has been a vital part of the Sanden family as a supplier of key components for SIA-manufactured compressors. Working together, SIA and SMX will now accelerate our efforts to improve SMX operations and further secure Sanden's business growth in the Americas.
Sanden International USA Inc is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Sanden Corporation of Japan. Sanden currently operates in 80 locations worldwide. The company's main lines of business include automotive air-conditioning equipment, retail store systems and vending machines, and home air-conditioning systems.
