July, 2008 The Sanden team lands awards from Volkswagen de Mexico Sanden International (USA), Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of compressors and other AC components, has won the Excellence in Technological Development award from Volkswagen de Mexico (VWM). The company received the accolade from VWM in recognition of Sanden's innovation, infrastructure quality and cooperation with VWM on new product developments. Worldwide, VWM has approximately 500 direct suppliers, out of which 200 are located in Mexico. Only 23 companies received awards for 2007 performance. Kent Nishimura, President and CEO of Sanden International U.S.A. Inc (SIA), received the award from Otto Lindner, Chairman of the Board at VWM and Jan Sderavika, DT Director, during a special event in Atlixco, Puebla, Mexico, where approximately 200 people were in attendance. "This is an award not just a plaque or certificate. It is an acknowledgement of the past, present and future work that is being done by every person that works here at SIA" says Joe Haddad, SVP of SIA. Sanden International USA Inc is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Sanden Corporation of Japan. Sanden currently operates in 80 locations worldwide. The company's main lines of business include automotive air-conditioning equipment, retail store systems and vending machines, and home air-conditioning systems.
