March 2008 Sanden receives Caterpillar Supplier Quality Excellence Program Certification Sanden International (U.S.A.), Inc., a leading manufacturer of automotive air conditioning compressors, has achieved Caterpillar's Supplier Quality Excellence Program (SQEP) certification. Caterpillar developed this program to place a renewed emphasis on supplier performance excellence. The SQEP certification is awarded to suppliers that have achieved the highest levels of quality, delivery, process control, and six-sigma. Kent Nishimura, President and CEO of Sanden America, received the award from Dave Berner, Global Cab Segment Manager of Caterpillar. The ceremony was held at Sanden's compressor manufacturing plant in Wylie, TX with the first and second shift employees in attendance. Mr. Berner congratulated Sanden for becoming one of the first suppliers to achieve certification to the program and honored Sanden as an elite supplier. According to Mr. Berner, compliance to the SQEP is a key component for Caterpillar to realize its corporate goals. Mr. Nishimura thanked Caterpillar for recognizing Sanden as an excellent company and challenged the organization to achieve an even higher level of SQEP performance in coming years.
