Re: PSO and PPAP Pre-Notification Requirement

Dear Valued Supplier,

Sanden SQA Department discussed the requirements for PSO and PPAP submission during the Sanden Supplier Conference in May 1997 and May 1998.

Per QS-9000 3rd edition, section II: Customer Specific Requirements: a supplier shall proactively communicate with customers regarding changes that may impact product quality. Specifically, notification to Sanden's SQA Engineer and/or Buyer/Planner shall be completed verbally with written follow up and approval before any of the following can be implemented at the supplier's location or any sub-supplier location:

· Proposed Material Changes
· Proposed Process Changes
· Proposed Manufacturing Location Changes

In addition to proposed changes you are required to notify the SQA Engineer and/or the Buyer/Planner when you become aware of potential supply or capacity issues. Resubmission of PPAP may also be required on drawing revisions, (see PPAP manual).

Please address questions to your Sanden SQA Engineer or Buyer/Planner. The following reference material also provides information on notification requirements:

· Sanden's Quality Assurance Manual
· QS-9000 3rd edition
· AIAG - Advanced Product Quality Planning and Control Plan (APQP)
· AIAG - Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
